What is the Ideal Weight Management?
At Glo we offer an approach that looks at more then just diet and exercise as the cause of your weight management struggles. This program compliments what you are already doing with your trainer, to help you get to the next level. In fact, continuing to work with your personal trainer or nutritionist/dietician is an excellent compliment.
This program will focus on your unique physiology and metabolic needs. There is no one size fits all diet. You will not be asked to count calories or exercise excessively. However, there is also not a magic solution for your weight goals. You still need to have optimal dietary patterns, move your body daily and hopefully weight train weekly. You still need to do some work.
We take a comprehensive approach to determine what is impacting your weight. Hormonal influences can include insulin resistance, leptin resistance, high cortisol, low testosterone, high or low estrogen, low thyroid function. We want to look at your relationship with food and yourself, your sleep, perception of stress (cortisol) and management strategies……these issues and more can impact your weight. Your weight can impact your energy, how you feel in your clothing, self confidence, and motivation.
We will focus on the many potential root causes that are impacting your weight. This will allow us to develop a plan together of intervention that are manageable depending on your lifestyle.
This is a medical supervised program. Prescription medications for weight loss may be an option. These would need to be covered under your health insurance and are no included in the program. Whether you choose to do medications is a very personal decision. We will guide you in this process examining the risks vs the benefits. Medications are only as good as the program that they go along with. Otherwise, we fall into the yo-yo dieting trap.
What is the process:
Step 1: A 15-minute phone consultation with our staff to answer any questions about the program. You will get a lab requisition and intake forms to complete.
Step 2: Complete the intake forms. Complete the lab work. Labs are completed fasting and in the morning between 7 to 10 am. For menstruating women these labs may be timed based on your menstrual cycle.
Step 3: Initial Appointment when we review the intake forms, your goals, and your lab results. An individualized treatment plan will be developed that focus on the causes of your weight concerns.
Step 4: 30 minute follow up at 3 months.
Step 5: 30 minute follow up at 6 months
Included in the program is also a supplement package (2 options available) and a booklet with support information, recipes, nutritional principles, and other resources to help guide you on your journey.
Email support may be included for an additional fee.
Basic lab work is covered. Advanced lab work is at an additional fee. These tests may include a DUTCH, gut health testing, food sensitivity testing, or metabolimix urine and serum testing. I use the following labs: Rocky Mountain Analytical Labs (affiliated with Genova labs), DUTCH labs, SIBO Canada, and Doctor’s Data.

My highest weight this year was 169 and I’m down to 142, hoping for another 15lbs!
My journey started last February 22/2022 when I sat in your office feeling depressed, fat, hopeless, not sleeping, hormones not balanced and desperate for answers that I had been looking for years (7) to be exact!
After many hormonal testing, Dutch, SIBO, Blood Work, Ozempic etc…
Your knowledge, wisdom, kindness, and caring way took such a huge weight off my shoulders!
I felt HOPE for the first time!!
In the past 9 months under Kathy’s care I’ve learned to sleep better, eat three meals a day no snacking, fasting16 hours, weight lifting 3-5times a week, love myself for not a number on the scale, but how good I can feel taking care of myself on all levels…

I wanted to let you know how incredibly grateful I am for your help. I am feeling so much better. I have energy.
I am not constantly hungry. I have lost 22 pounds. I am sleeping better, and my migraines have been virtually non-existent. I can easily fast for 14-16 hours without any hungry-angry feelings. I could barely go 3 hours before.
I am noticing what it feels like to feel hungry without the panic and expectations of the awful feeling I used to get. I am not missing all the crap that I used to eat-at all. None of these types of changes were expected when I came to see you. I thought your might prescribe hormones. That’s it. I am just blown away by the changes to how I am feeling, and I tell all my friends who have notice something different about me. Thank you so much.

I booked a consultation with Kathy because I had been feeling fatigued for several months. Getting out of bed was starting to become a chore…even though I am typically a morning person. I also felt weak during exercise and my joints had been sore as well. I typically enjoy going to the gym 6 days per week and I just hadn’t been able to weight train like I usually could. I was plateauing despite working out for 2 or more hours per day. My family physician old me feeling this way was normal as I had just turned 40 years old-which was depression.
At my initial consult Kathy spent a full hour with me asking question no doctor has ever asked me. She was able to determine that I have a blood disorder that was causing my alarming high iron levels in my body…hence the fatigue and joint pain. My testosterone levels were also a bit low and she recommended TRT to help me get my strength back.
I am so grateful for Kathy as this was all missed at my regular check up with my GP. Kathy listened to my symptoms. She changed my diet and added in some supplements.
I was a bit nervous to see Kathy as explain some of my symptoms to a female can be embarrassing, but she made me feel super comfortable. I felt I could tell her everything and she was very compassionate…I trust Kathy with my health and I’s so grateful I found her. Thank you for listening to me and for caring about my health.
